| After reading a post by member 0sb0rne regarding uploading the CECT i9 based firmware (with JAVA) to the P168. I decided to start a thread on this topic. lets see what happens here. after racking my brain for a couple of minutes. I read my CECT information I have posted regarding the MTK Processors. What is the architecture of the MTK processors? These are ARM-compatible, in fact the MT6226, MT6227, MT6229, and MT6230 are all confirmed have the ARM 7EJ-S core, which is a 32-bit RISC processor that can also natively run Java bytecode and includes an LCD controller. so this has me in a thinking frenzy. I do not have a spare p168 lying around. nor do I even have a Serial cable. If someone is brave enough to try this be my guest. but first, We need to have someone make a firmware copy of their i9 phone. NOTE: I would think any P168 manufactured during or around May 2008 and newer have the MT6226 chip. I know my "C" version does.

| I am ready to do it soon as we get firmware. I get excited over this stuff now. Now that I know I can get it started again after I kill it. (hopefully) I will be ready to do it this evening if we can get the firmware. Or whenever. I am ready! | |

| Yeah I have flashed my phone with every firmware I have seen so far. I have been trying to get i68 firware since it says it has a 6225 processor but could not find it. It may not be compatible with my phone but I am going to try it out as soon as I find it. So if you do not mind I would also give it a try.
Thanks | |

| I wouldn't mind if you did it too. I am sure no one else would mind either. That way we can see if it would work for both of our phones or not.. Since I got some things to work on mine that wouldn't on yours. This might work on yours and not mine. Maybe if we are lucky it will work for both of us. That would be fantastic! Later | |

| OK. I was able to get flash .bin files for the CiPhone with the MTK6230 processor.
This firmware is NOT for the i9. I am still working on getting the .bin file for it. I did find out that the i9 firmware is a .JAR file meaning it would be impossible to flash the file. because the phone would need Java 2.0 on it.
This could be a big waste of time....but.....if you are brave enough I won't stop you
NOTE: I will not be held responsible for what happens if you try to flash you phone with this.
The download link is below.

| Wow I downloaded this firmware and it is 132 megs uncompressed. My phone says it only has 32 megs of flash. So I know I can not do it on my phone. This would take hours to download at 115200 if someone had the space for it. | |
